A STORY WAITING TO BE TOLD

My Upcoming Book: A True Account of Symptoms, Dismissal, and Recovery

I am currently writing a book that tells the full, unfiltered story of my implant journey — from surgery, to symptoms, to dismissal, to explant, and finally to recovery and clarity.

This book is based on:

  • my lived medical experience
  • medical records
  • provider notes
  • written correspondence
  • physical therapy documentation
  • and the timeline that unfolded between 2021 and 2025

WHY I’M WRITING THIS BOOK

To help patients facing unexplained symptoms feel seen, validated, and empowered.

Because patients deserve information that isn’t sugarcoated.

Because symptoms like mine are rarely mentioned in consultations.

Because dismissal hurts just as much as the symptoms themselves.

Because I want others to recognize what I didn’t.

Because transparency matters.

Because I survived something that nearly took my me".

And because telling my story might help someone else trust their instincts.

CHAPTER ONE
The Day the Pressure Stopped

I woke up in an anesthetic haze and thought,

Oh my goodness… my head does not feel like it’s going to blow up.

And then, out loud:

“It doesn’t hurt. My head doesn’t hurt.”

I looked at my daughter, who had tears in her eyes, and I repeated it, almost in disbelief.

“It doesn’t hurt. My head doesn’t hurt.”

She wiped her face, trying to smile, and I asked her, “Why are you crying?”

“Do you know how sad that makes me feel for you?” she said. “That’s just sad… and I’m happy you are feeling better.”
